We want to give a huge congratulations to the Farmington High School Theatre Department for their successful performances of "Broadway's Best" over the weekend. Senior Theatre member Georgia Richards says, "I’ve been in the theatre program for four years, and it has been one of the greatest experiences. Theatre is so fun, and I encourage everyone to at least take a theatre class or do a play. New Varsity Football coach JR Eldridge is already making his presence at FHS known. Coach Eldridge explains, "I believe that getting in the mix with our players helps us to create a synergetic bond that leads to togetherness. As a player I always responded to coaches that got in the mix with me... If I am simply barking commands at our players all day, they might get the sense that I am against them and not for them. I want our players to KNOW that I want what is best for Farmington." #cardstudentsareworthit

We're continuing Teacher Appreciation Week with a highlight of Ms. Flora. A graduate of Henderson State where she earned her BA in English Lit, Ms. Flora also has her M.Ed in Secondary Education & has been teaching for 17 years. Certified in English, Journalism, & Digital Photography, she also takes photos and creates content for the high school social media sites. As Teacher Appreciation Week wraps up, we want to say how thankful we are for the FHS PTSA. PTSA works with parents, students, teachers, and the community to provide support in and out of the classroom. This year the bulk of organization was handled by Mrs. Earnheart, Mrs. H. Robinson, and a parent volunteer. "All monies we receive are used to support teacher & student activities and provide scholarships for seniors," said Mrs. Earnheart (pictured setting donuts out for teachers). National Nurses Week begins today! We always appreciate everything that our school nurses do for FSD, but we also want to honor the students who plan to become nurses and medical professionals after high school. "I have always wanted to have a career in the medical field, and I decided I wanted to become a nurse, specifically a NICU nurse because my twin brothers were born premature and were in the NICU," said Paris Reynolds (11).
